Ginger is a good old remedy that helps to get rid of a cold and eliminate the symptoms of diseases of the upper respiratory tract.
You can go the simplest way by adding a couple of fresh ginger slice to tea. And you can spend a little more time on making tasty and healthy products for fighting cough and colds, but the result will be worth the effort.
Today we offer you the technology for making a warming milk-ginger drink, tasty and healthy ginger candy and an original healthy snack dessert - ginger candied fruit.
The main ingredient is fresh ginger root, which can be easily found both in supermarkets and vegetable markets, as well as in small grocery stores.
Ginger is a powerful immunostimulant!
Ginger Milk Drink
Such tea in the absence of contraindications will warm and soothe, suppress the feeling of hunger (which is especially important for pain and discomfort in the throat). You can make this tea for the whole day by pouring it into a thermos.
To make this tea you will need:
- 2 tbsp peeled and grated ginger root;
- 300 ml of milk;
- 100 ml of water;
- 0.5 tsp black tea;
- honey, spices to taste.
We boil water by adding ginger to it. After a minute of intense boiling, pour the milk, add tea and spices. Cook on minimum heat for about 7 minutes. Add honey to the slightly cooled tea.
Ginger contains many essential oils and amino acids, vitamins C, B1, B2, A, E, K, phosphorus, calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc and sodium.
Ginger candy
Such lollipops perfectly relieve sore throat. And cooking them is easy!
To do this, you will need:
- 0.5 cups of sugar;
- 2 tbsp. tablespoons of water;
- juice of half a lemon;
- 2-3 cm of fresh ginger root;
- 2-3 cloves;
- powdered sugar.
Pour water into a thick-walled pan or stewpan, add sugar to it and put on a stove on a slow fire. Pour in a little lemon juice and add ginger (peeled and cut into thin plates), as well as cloves.
We are waiting for the mixture to begin to simmer, minimize the heat and cook until the caramel becomes a thick, dark amber color.
With a spoon, smeared with a thin layer of odorless oil, put the caramel circles on the cooking mat or parchment.
When the sweets have cooled and solidified, roll them in icing sugar and transfer them to a storage container with a sealed lid.
Concentrated Ginger Juice Lozenges
Another recipe for cough lollipops, which are prepared on ginger juice and are obtained with a richer flavor.
To prepare them, you need the following components:
- 50 ml of fresh grated ginger juice;
- 250 g of sugar;
- 1 tbsp lemon juice.
We mix all the ingredients and cook over low heat in a saucepan, until the caramel becomes thick. We spread the candies on a silicone mat or parchment or pour them into molds. Inside, you can put nuts or sunflower / pumpkin seeds. You can make such lollipops.
Ginger relieves irritation in the throat and facilitates the removal of sputum from the bronchi.
Candied ginger
Another recipe for a healthy and tasty dessert, if you do not suffer from allergies or individual intolerance to ginger. It's about candied fruits. They are prepared from the following components:
- 200 g of fresh ginger;
- water;
- sugar.
Cut the ginger into thin plates, put it in a pan and fill it with water, which should cover the slices. Cook over low heat for half an hour. If you do not like the bitterness of ginger, then the first water is better to drain. If you like it sharper, then use the first "broth" for the preparation of syrup.
Sugar we take twice as much water, add to ginger and boil the syrup. We simmer the liquid over low heat until candied candied fruits remain in the pan.
We cool them and roll each slice in granulated sugar. Store in a sealed container with a lid for up to three months.
