In February 2019, the Russian Federation, like a number of other countries, introduced temporary restrictions on the purchase and import of meat products from the Kyrgyz Republic into the territory of the state.
The restrictions concerned cattle meat and small livestock and were caused by the deterioration of the epizootic situation in Kyrgyzstan. According to employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor, today, meat products of Kyrgyz manufacturers have finally received the long-awaited permission for sale in retail outlets of countries belonging to the Eurasian Economic Union. Including, and in the territory of the Russian Federation.
The fact is that Kyrgyz suppliers have finally provided the Eurasian Commission with the results of examinations and inspections that have been carried out since August 2018. As a result, meat and meat products made by the forces of Kyrgyz butchers received approval. And the food producers from Kyrgyzstan were included in the list of companies that have the right to supply their goods to the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. In particular, the Kyrgyz company “Adal Azyk” also received permission, which is known and enjoys great popularity both within the framework of its country and far beyond its borders.
Today, the authorized departments of Kyrgyzstan resume trade relations with Russia. The intermediary is the Rosselkhoznadzor agency, which controls the process of “resuscitation” of meat supplies (we are talking about horse meat, beef and mutton) from the Kyrgyz Republic.
