Breeders of the Moscow region are working tirelessly to create new varieties of crops. It is known that at this point they managed to develop at least one hundred and seventy unique types of grain plants and legumes.
According to the developers themselves, eighty-two varieties that they managed to produce are already listed in the register of achievements of Russian breeders.
Such information was shared with the general public by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region Andrei Razin.
The head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture also emphasized that between 2017 and 2018, breeders operating in the Moscow region presented such unique soft wheat varieties for winter sowing as Nemchinovskaya-85 and Moskovskaya-82.
In addition, during the indicated period, spring varieties of soft wheat “Radmira”, “Znatny”, “Nemchinovsky-61” and “Zlatoyar” were developed and approved for planting.
It will not be superfluous to note that, according to Andrei Razin, the Moscow Region expects, using the achievements of local breeders, to significantly increase the pace of development and production volumes of the grain industry. And not only in the suburbs, but also in the Central Federal District as a whole.
