2019 will be marked by an important process for the economy and agriculture of the Russian Federation - in the near future, representatives of the two indicated areas intend to jointly increase the volume of pork exports by at least twenty percent.

Thus, the sale of Russian pig products may exceed one hundred thousand tons per year.

Such assumptions were shared by members of the board of directors of the Russian Pig Breeding Union. The meeting was held on the basis of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation with the participation of leading industry experts.

According to representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Russia took the first steps towards a significant increase in export volumes of pork back in 2012. And with each subsequent year, the pace only grew. For clarity, we note that only in 2018, the volume of Russian exports of pig products increased by at least eighteen percent.

At the same time, imports of pork and other pig products in the country are declining: domestic buyers today buy at least 70% less products than a year earlier.

This, analysts are convinced, is due to the fact that in the farms of the Russian Federation over the past seven years, the volume of production of pig meat has increased one and a half times.
