In 2019, the territory of Vinnitsa region will be enriched with new gardens with a total area of 546 hectares.
Most of the plantations will be made up of nuts and apple trees, according to the first deputy head of the Vinnitsa Regional State Administration Andrei Gizhko. 546 hectares of new gardens will appear in the Vinnitsa Region this year. In past years, 750 hectares of gardens were planted in the region.
This year the number of plantings is slightly less, but still this is the highest indicator in the country. New plantings include nuts and apple trees. 120 hectares of 546 hectares are reserved for nuts. At the same time, about 20 hectares will make hazelnut plantings. Such fruit trees as plum, cherry and cherry have gained popularity, said Andrei Gizhko.Recall that walnut orchards were planted in the Vinnitsa region in 2015 and amounted to 970 hectares of land. In 2018, the total area of walnut stands exceeded 2 thousand ha. Of these, 1 thousand ha of nut plantings are at the fruiting age. Last year, the yield of Vinnitsa nuts was at the level of 60 c / ha.
Walnut is easy to grow, and the cost of production is much lower than other crops. At the same time, walnuts and hazelnuts can easily be collected and transported, even without special equipment and facilities. Nuts tolerate transportation well, preserving the presentation and quality characteristics.
