The Portuguese National Federation of Wine Cooperatives (FENADEGAS) is reinforcing the request for measures to support the wine sector.
Given the circumstances that the country is experiencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which, unfortunately, will have a long period, FENADEGAS emphasizes the need for measures that can somehow help cooperative wineries and winegrowers to minimize high losses.
Many Portuguese winemakers still adhere to the tradition of pressure and maceration in shallow pools - lagoons. Wine is crushed with their feet, this is one of the most gentle methods of pressing, in which the bone is not damaged.
Therefore, FENADEGAS suggests considering the following measures:
- Allow people over 70 to travel to vineyards, land, farms, given the advanced age of many winemakers;
- Promotion of assistance for agricultural holdings;
- Extension of the deadline for filing applications for new permits for planting vines and changing the timing of operations of already approved projects;
- Reduction of bureaucracy and simplification of projects in the sector, as well as regarding their implementation;
- Promote the promotion of alternative distribution channels for wine products;
- Treasury issues are also a very important aspect, given the huge drop in sales.
- warehouse assistance;
- guaranteed minimum market value distiller.
- As climate change is too hot for winemaking in southern Europe, viticulture is gaining momentum in Scandinavia.
- Earlier we wrote that Freiburgers are calling for support.
- Along with his desire for natural winemaking, Gabor Nagy, who produces his wines under the Medvebor brand, also took on the task of preserving and distributing old Hungarian varieties.
