In the Vinnitsa region finished the sugar season with the lowest rate over the past four years.

In total, 331 thousand were cooked at six plants. Even with such a significant decrease, the Vinnitsa region remains the leader in sugar production compared to other beet-growing regions of the state.

This spring, the total area under sugar beets in the region was reduced to 44.2 thousand hectares, which is almost 10 thousand hectares. less than last year. The second reason for the “bitter" indicator is low productivity: from 1 hectare, 419 centners were dug on average. root crops instead of 569 c, as in the previous season.

So few beets have not been harvested for almost a dozen past years. Experts complain of unsatisfactory climatic conditions.

There was not enough moisture during sowing, it was also not enough in some periods of the formation of the root system. At least there are no other reasons.

For information, in 2019, Vinnytsia farmers reduced the area under sugar beet in favor of soybeans, under which they allocated 16% more land compared to last year. As farmers explained, this is due to falling sugar prices.
