One of the largest blueberry plantations in Ukraine is located in the village of Velikiye Luchki, Mukachevo district, Transcarpathia. 200 people work on 80 ha of plantings every day.
Workers themselves say that the working conditions in the company are good. Hot lunches are delivered to the field, there is a place to relax, and a nurse is constantly on duty.
Chief agronomist Boris Smolyar says that although blueberries and unpretentious berries, its cultivation can not do without specially created conditions.
The amount of berries collected by each employee at the enterprise is monitored online. Economist Maria Prikhodko says that the company is provided with smartphones that are connected to the mobile Internet.
Each worker has his own individual barcode, with the help of which information is collected on how many berries this or that person collected. The record for the number of berries picked per 1 person is about 50 kg. On a field scale, the largest amount is 10 tons of blueberries per day.
In production adhere to sterile conditions. You can’t wash the berry, after collection it is immediately sent for sale. BlueBerry is an international Global G.A.P. certificate, and recently received a Halal certificate. This indicates a high quality product and allows you to export the berry to European and Muslim countries.
