Near Zaporozhye, the Food Factor company in the laboratory grows useful algae - spirulina. Now the company plans to expand its range and grow another microgreen.
The founder of Food Factor, Alim Kunah, previously engaged in the processing of grain and oilseeds. However, a few years ago, together with Vadim Kirichko and Vladimir Ischuk, he started growing spirulina.
“For a year and a half we, with the help of scientists and specialists, studied spirulina, its beneficial properties. We perfectly understood that this product was popular abroad and hoped that Ukrainians would want to try it. Already in 2016, they created the Food Factor company and already grew spirulina under TM Spirulinka, ”said Alim Kunakh.
According to him, spirulina is growing very quickly and regularly generates an operating flow. In a month you can harvest. At Food Factor, spirulina is grown in bioreactors, which maintain a special environment for algae.
To obtain a product that does not have a swamp smell and taste, special conditions were created, similar to laboratory ones. The company spent about 100 thousand dollars on research and creation of production.
“In September 2017, we registered with the FDA (Food and Drug Administration - American Federal Office for the Supervision of Food and Drug Administration).
Thanks to this, we can supply products to America. The Arab market is also promising for us, because the trend of healthy eating is developing there, ”Alim Kunakh added. The main channel for the sale of products is the Internet.
