Starting April 12, 2019, a temporary restrictive regime is introduced on the territory of the Russian Federation for the import of apples and pears of Belarusian origin into the territory of the state.
Taboo on the export of fruits from a neighboring country was imposed by authorized experts of the Rosselkhoznadzor.
According to agency officials, only in the first week of April, on the border between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, representatives of mobile groups, with the support of employees of the Federal Customs Service, detained nearly four dozen vehicles with “sanction” on board. We are talking about 39 cars that brought food products from Belarus to Russia without accompanying documentation and phytosanitary certificates. In addition, the provision is sanctioned and a priori prohibited for sale on the territory of the Russian Federation. In 36 cases of car detention out of 39, sanctioned apples and pears were found as cargo.
According to the data published on the official portal of the Rosselkhoznadzor, if earlier restrictions on re-export of fruits and vegetables from Belarus were introduced in Russia, now more drastic measures have been taken and a complete ban has been introduced. How long the taboo period for fruit and vegetable exports from Belarus will last is not reported.
