A ten-year lease for farmers (FBT) will allow the winning farmer to “capture” two famous mountain farms in Scotland.
With a total of 2,300 acres, Hethpool and Fleehope Farms is located in College Valley, in the Northern Cheviot Hills.
Hethpool, 1125 feet above sea level, and Fleehope, 1970 feet above sea level, have been used by highly respected sheep farmers Bill and Fanny Elliot for the past 20 years.
Farms are leased for an initial period of 10 years starting November 11, 2020. FBT leases include farm buildings, sheepfolds, and a four-bedroom house.
According to the owners of the farm, the College Valley Estates trust fund, the right to lease will go to a farmer who has experience in farming in the field of sheep breeding. In addition, the farmer must also “demonstrate respect, management and improvement of the natural environment”.
