Odessa company "Danube Agrarian", which is the only one of its kind producer of organic watermelons with certification, plans to export watermelons to Germany and Scandinavia this year, director of the company Roman Dyazhuk shared information.
The company is satisfied with last year's harvest and its sale. This year it is planned to expand the sown area twice, up to 40 hectares. In addition, it is planned to establish the sale of the sweet product in Europe, said Roman Dyazhuk.
Last year brought to the Danube Agrarian the first crop of organic peaches, which are grown on an area of 20 hectares.Currently, the company is working on equipping the refrigerator. After the completion of its construction, the Danube Agrarian will have the opportunity to export organic peaches and plums, summed up Roman Dyazhuk.
In addition to fruits and watermelons, the company on 2 thousand hectares cultivates organic rapeseed, sunflower and millet in 10% of the area. Organic peas, lentils and chickpeas occupy 20-25% of the area. The largest amount of land (45%) is reserved for wheat and organic barley.
