Based on the information shared by employees of the Russian Federal Customs Service, in the first four months of this year, domestic producers managed to sell more than eight and a half million tons of wheat grain and meslin (a rye and wheat mix in a standard proportion of 1: 2) to the foreign market.
Revenues from these sales amounted to about two billion dollars.
And here it is important to add that in 2018, the shipping volumes of wheat and meslin were significantly higher - by more than thirty-four percent.
It is noteworthy that last year's revenue for the specified product in the first four months was nineteen and a half percent higher than the same indicator from January to April 2019.
It should also be noted that from the first days of this year to the end of April, Russian customs officers recorded the export of nine hundred and eighty-four thousand tons of sunflower oil produced by domestic producers.
For clarity, we note that for the sale of oil in the first four months of this year, Russian suppliers earned twenty-one percent more revenue (six hundred ninety million dollars) than a year earlier, when sales to the foreign market were lower by a third.
