In Ukraine, there is an increasing demand for high-quality carrots, which market participants themselves call rush, EastFruit analysts said. Increasing sales rates enable prices to rise even further.

Since the beginning of this week, carrots have risen in price by 27%. Stocks of marketable carrots and good quality in farms are rapidly depleting, and the demand for products from retail chains and wholesale companies continues to grow.

This stimulates a rise in prices for root crops. Offers of low-quality carrots are becoming less and less, which also supports price increases. Last year, the carrot market in Ukraine experienced a similar situation.

It is worth noting that in 2018, the price of quality carrots was about 20% higher than today. Recall that in the first days of April last year, the price of carrots often reached the mark of 10 UAH / kg.

For information, not only carrots, but also greens are getting more expensive in Ukrainian markets. In March, it became more expensive immediately by 19%. The most expensive was basil. For him, traders are asking for 450 UAH / kg, which is equivalent to $ 16.7 / kg.
