In Ukraine, the food culture is changing for the better. This is due to the fact that Ukrainians began to travel a lot around the world, adopting the traditions of different nations. In many cuisines of warm countries, fresh plant products are in use. Even 5-7 years ago, refreshment from fresh vegetables in the winter was considered a curiosity. Now this is more likely the norm than exotic. It’s very good that people strive for healthy eating habits, says Ivan Fedishin, director of the Vegetables and Fruits department of the Shuvar ORSP.
Peppers, leafy salads, tomatoes and cucumbers lead in sales of imported vegetables. Most willingly, Ukrainians buy foreign grapes, tangerines and bananas. The most popular products of local cultivation were potatoes, onions and apples.
