According to experts, this year manufacturers entered the markets about a week earlier than last year. To date, early beets come from farmers at a price of 23-25 ​​UAH / kg ($ 0.87-0.95 / kg), and young carrots - at 30-35 UAH / kg ($ 1.14-1.33 / kg )

Market participants note that while fresh Ukrainian-made vegetables enter the market in small batches. Large deliveries of young vegetables are expected next week.

Last year's beets currently have the same price as the previous week - 12-18 UAH / kg ($ 0.46-0.68 / kg). Since the beginning of this week, carrots of the “old” crop have fallen in price by 10%. Currently, Ukrainian farmers are ready to ship it at 16-18 UAH / kg ($ 0.61-0.68 / kg).

It is noteworthy that both carrots and beets from the previous year’s harvest are now much more expensive than on the same date in 2018. Last year’s carrots went up 1.8 times, and last year’s beets became 2.4 times more expensive compared to last year. .
