According to Rosstat experts, only in February of this year, the gross production of poultry and farm animals for slaughter in the conditions of Russian farms and livestock associations added 1.7%.

The return to growth is pleasing to domestic farmers, who, after a decrease in production volumes in January (by 0.3%), are seriously worried about the immediate future of the industry. Today it is known that the production of poultry, small cattle and cattle has grown significantly over the course of several weeks and reached more than one and a half million tons of live weight.

However, it will not be amiss to emphasize that a single poultry meat production in Russia is noticeably reduced. Moreover, the trend has maintained its position for the second month. So, according to the Federal State Statistics Service, in January and February 2019, about 975 thousand tons of chicken, turkey meat and other types of poultry meat were produced (minus 3.5% compared to the same period in 2018). This also applies to the Central Federal District, which accounts for up to 40% of all industrial production.

“We have to admit that poultry production fell by 3.1% in 2 months, and by 35% in the Southern Federal District,” the Federal State Statistics Service said.
